NATO is an organization that includes countries in Europe and North America. The major reason for the formation of NATO was that the countries involved wanted a mutual defense alliance so that if one of them were attacked all of the other countries in NATO would come to their aide.
The Warsaw pact consisted mostly of the Soviet Union and its satellite countries. It was supposed to be another mutual defense alliance like the North Atlantic Treaty, and was created in response to it. The Soviet Union dominated the alliance. The Soviet Union kept military personnel in the other countries of the alliance and kept them running socialist governments. It was the first step in an attempt to strengthen the Soviet Union's hold on its satellite countries. This program was undertaken by Nikita Khrushchev and Nikolay Bulganin after they assumed power in early 1955. The United States and the Soviet Union were aganist each other in the cold war.

Film Lesson: Night and Fog

The movie "Night and Fog" was basically a documentary about Auschwitiz and the holocaust. It showed how the Germans killed alot of jews, how the jews take a shower made with gas. It showed the ovens where the jew will get burned. They showed a part where the Germans made the jews bary the dead bodies for them to hide the evedence. I found the film powerful because how the Germans was treating the jews. But in the documentary, they didnt show that the Germans took all the jews kids.

The Treaty of Versailles(ended in WW1)

The Treaty of Versailles was received very badly within Germany. The nation had been blamed entirely for the first world war and had been forced to pay compensation to the allies under the war guilt clause of the treaty. They refused to sign the treaty. The people were happy hearing the news of the end of the war, but they were mad by the terms of the treaty. The Germans faced with some of the harshest obligations and terms they had ever seen. hate arose throughout the German population and went on for about 20 years, when all of a sudden, World War II erupted. Therefore, the Treaty of Versailles’ inadequate terms and its delegates were the cause of World War II.
